Little Texas Homestead

Our big dream was to get out of the city, find a house with some good land out in the country, and learn to be more self-sufficient.

We left our home in February 2019, bought a truck and a camper in Arizona, then explored Texas and Northern New Mexico. We finally found our homestead, just south of Abilene, TX. It was December 2019, a couple of months before the first "C'vd" hit the United States.

It was a real adventure living in a 26 ft. trailer for 10 months with 2 big dogs! After the real estate folks handed us the keys to our new home, we dug some garden beds, got us some chickens, took a big breath and started homesteading. Let the projects begin!

Then the world changed, but we were thankful to be here on our Little Texas Homestead and out of the Big City during the first lockdown. 2020 passed, we survived the Polar Vortex, we're eating fresh food from the garden and we started an orchard. The roosters are annoying but other than that, things are pretty good.

Next spring we want to start a grocery row garden, there's so much to learn! In this blog we tell the story of how we found a homestead. We also look at backyard
farming, self-sufficiency, permaculture, emergency readiness and sustainable living. We'll investigate off-grid kitchen appliances and human powered tools. That way, if the grid goes out, we'll be ready.

We love organic gardening and a healthy lifestyle. Here you will stay informed on the Anti-GMO movement, leading edge permaculture, homesteading, planet change, alternative remedies and self-sufficient living.  Join us as we learn all we can before the next global panic.
